Summer Make up tips
One of the greatest things about the Summer season, along with the beach, the pool, and the longer days, is that we are able to shed some the layers we normally would not leave the home with out. In theory our preparation time should be shortened, (however this is not always the case). Our clothes will be in a much lighter texture as well as the colors that we choose, and we can do away with tights until the next season and bare our legs for the world to see.
And luckily for makeup during the warm season the same rules that apply to fashion also apply here. The Summer months call for less foundation and less eyeshadow. The color of our lip gloss (excepting the most rare of occasions) should be lighter and glossier. My favorite look on a woman is luminous skin and beautifully flushed cheeks.
On the runways for Ready to wear Fall 2009, cheeks were the focal point of all the make up. My favorite was the house of Anna Sui, the models had the appearance of glowing from within, which is very refreshing.
To create this healthy glow for yourself, choose colors that have a little gold flake in them, may it be pink, coral or whatever best suits your personal style. Aveda's Apricot Glow is one of my favorites to achieve this look. Make sure you smile when applying your blush, you want it to start on the apples of your cheeks and end at the hair line
The rest of the face should be a piece of cake, you only need mascara and lip gloss to look great for a day out with friends or park concert.
Happy Blushing,
