Van Michael Salon was recently invited to lend its talents in collaboration with Versace for a very special evening commemorating the grand re-opening of the Phipps Plaza Versace boutique, and the Spring 2009 Versace collection. The evening played out like a gallery exhibit, which was fitting as the host for the event was none other than Mason Murer Fine Arts in Buckhead. In non-traditional fashion show style, the models stood on raised blocks instead of walking a runway, standing as though they were mannequins. It was true art.

The Versace collection was awe-inspiring. Of particular interest to me was a handbag that had such delicious hardware in matte gold finish, and a tiny mint green dress made of a fabric that looked like (for lack of a better description) fish scales. Backstage was not the chaos you usually see at a fashion show. Daniel Holzberger and his team of hair artists produced coifs straight from the runways of Milan, and my team of amazing make-up artists made me so proud, they swept metallic smokey eyes in minutes. We received amazing compliments from everyone at the show.
Very Special Thanks go to: Daniel Holzberger, Sevin Vee, Rod Lawson, Ginger Barton, Georgia Berry, Mequilla Lewis, Tiffany Cantrell, Tedrick Hargrove, and Gracie Zane
