This last Sunday, the second longest day of the year, Van performed two large feats in one lone day. First Van secured the winning position in the Georgia State Mountain Bike Championship series and immediately hopped off his bike and was on a plane to New Orleans to pay tribute to the one true legend in our industry, Vidal Sassoon.

Staged during Neill Corp’s Serious Business conference in New Orleans, the tribute raised money for Hairdressers Unlocking Hope (HUH) and at the same time honored the industry’s most inspirational man, Sassoon. Some of the greatest talent in the business – Antoinette Beenders, Vivienne Mackinder, Nick Arrojo, Robert Lobetta, Christiaan and Tim Hartley joined Van and made history for the crowd of more than 1,000, with each artist putting their own personal spin on a classic Sassoon coif. All this to raise money for HUH, an international fundraising effort by beauty professionals that has generated almost $2 million for Habitat for Humanity.
