Natalie Gurley - Color Education Director

Natalie’s interest in haircolor began in 1989 when she worked as a client coordinator at an Aveda Concept Salon in Michigan.  Trained at The Horst Education Center, now known as The Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, Natalie’s experience and knowledge of Aveda’s products and salon systems is exceptional.

Natalie joined the Van Michael team in 1996.  Her hard work and varied talents have earned her the title of Director of Color Education for Van Michael Salon.  Natalie has specially selected and trained her education team, which oversees training for the entire Van Michael color staff.  The team can train up to 30 junior colorists at one time.  She is also involved in creating curriculum, standards, and policies implemented company-wide.

In addition, Natalie works and travels with the Van Michael Show Team.  She designed two color looks for Aveda’s Autumn/Winter 2004 “Changes” collection and has participated in several Master Jam education events, including the prestigious London Master Jam in March 2006.  Natalie was also featured in Allure’s February 2001 issue for her in-salon work as Atlanta’s Best Up and Coming Colorist, and she was nominated for NAHA Colorist of the Year in 2003 and 2004.
